Keona Lodge is constructed out of only the most select grade of lumber and logs. The primary supports of this post and beam design are 16" Western Red Cedar logs. This species is used primarily for its resistance to insects and decay, its beauty, and it sweet fragrance.

In addition to Cedar logs, the outside of the Lodge is protected using select grade tight knot Cedar siding and cedar fascia. This is tongue and groove siding that will keep its beauty for ages if it is properly maintained.
Framing materials for the Lodge consist only of the finest select grade kiln-dried lumber. Outside walls are six inches thick offering plenty of insulation from the coldest Yosemite night.

Inside, the ceilings will be covered with select grade tight knot Cedar liner. It will be lightly stained and provide a bright and vibrant wood coloring to the entire interior. Cedar ceiling liner will also give the Lodge that ubiquitous sweet Cedar smell.

To finish things off, the interior and exterior of the Lodge will be protected with hand-hewn red cedar rails. This will really give the Lodge its character since the posts will all be a massive 8 inches in diameter and the rails will be 4 inches. Even though many walls will be conventionally framed and covered, the log cabin look and feel will be impossible to escape.
